The standard Champion plug for the 3.8 is nothing special... NGK make a good range of substitute plugs including high quality / long life options and are readily available. Always been satisfied with NGK plugs......

I wouldn't experiment outside the plug manufacturers geometry recommendations however, the 3.8 is very sensitive to plug geometry - i tried some four electrode versions and the thing kept pinging, swapped back to a single electrode version and all good.

$6 ea I would assume. Must be for a copper plug.
$160 for a set of platinum or Iridium plugs.

Was $6 each US for platinum...

Cost me around $50 all up including freight.

Sent from a tiny keyboard with fat fingers, apologies for my spelling. .

x2, I got mine through Amazon for about $6.00 each as well. Heard some people were having trouble with aftermarket brands so stuck with Champion. Couldn't find a supplier in Aust at a fair price. Had them within a week.

Plugs are where they got me too... I did shop the 48K service around but because I was still under warranty, needed to stick with the genuine ones. Could've saved myself a few hundred $$$ by going elsewhere but my local Jeep service guys are good to deal with... Theyre labour force is expensive too but I definitely don't have the knowledge to give it a crack myself.
