Default WH CRD Engine Trouble

Hey guys,

So in the last month or so, every now and then the WH would lose accelerating power all of a sudden when im driving. It felt/feels like i'm driving with no turbo, and certainly sounds like there is no turbo when this happens. Then when i turn my car off and turn it back on it would be fine again straight away, i guess about one out of every 20 times i drive it this would have happened. But today i was driving and this happened and the engine/malfunction light came on. Turned the car off and the light stayed on but the power went back to normal again. For this reason that when i turn it off/on and it works again makes me think it may be an electrical problem? Maybe the fuel pump or something?

This is really worrying me especially now that the malfunction light is staying on!!

Any information on what you may think, or if you've experienced anything similar, will be much appreciated! Thankyou!!

I know the CRD has something pogrammed into the computer that cuts power to the engine when you are touching the brake. I left foot brake and like to increase the revs when stopped so it can take off quickly when needed (getting into traffic etc), but due to this program it doesn't allow me to get any power at all. It doesn't let the engine rev.

Just a thought. Have you done the check codes thing with the key??

The first thing you need to do is extract the code/s to see why the MIL (malfunction ind light) has come on.

Not sure how to do this on the WH - but a search on here or another member should give the answer.

Probably losing power to protect itself from something it has identified as wrong.
