Here's an old one, you can see where the fridge and battery sits, I have since made up a drawer instead of the long flat plastic tub, the ply floor has brackets that clip in to the same spots as plastic one at the back

Another idea I'd thought of was to make up a donut style tank to fit into the wheel well and plumb it in but I'm leaning towards the large single tank idea.

Pretty sure I've seen on a subaru forum that there are fuel tanks available that are round & designed to go where spare tyres go.

I have just put some drawers and a fridge slide in. I had a new floor made up out of ply and secured it by a single threaded rod which screws into the hole that secures the spare. A single 21mm nut in the centre of the floor keeps it tight. I sourced a single drawer from http://www.affordable4x4drawers.com.au/ and a fridge slide from Uneek. If I need to get at the spare I remove the drawer from its box and take the fridge out. The floor is then light enough to lift after I remove the single nut. Bit of a hassle but hopefully I will never have to do it!

The drawers are made out of ply and custom made to size by Andrew at Affordable. Great job and very reasonable price.

Cheers
Paul
