Between a few hours yesterday and today I managed to get the sides of my truss cutout and holes cut. Need to cut ribs and fold top plate next. Sides are 3mm sheet and the top will be 6mm plus the lightning holes will be dimpled. Basically trying to make it match my front artec truss because they don't make an 8.8 truss that goes perch to perch without adding filler pieces, plus it's designed to work with their spring mounts.

Going for something like this....

This is my version for the 8.8....

Thanks jeepbloke I'm sure there's better rigs out there than mine but I appreciate the comments! Been pretty slow last two weeks due to developing a chest infection (yay) but I got a bit more done on the truss last couple of days...

Got the sides dimpled and folded the top plate. Tacked it all together yesterday and checked for final fit, so far so good. Going to start on the traction bar crossmember next and hopefully the tube for the bar should be here next week.

My new gears and bearings arrived at SBR offroad on Friday so I thought I better pull my finger out and weld up the housing. Got the final measurments sorted and set the pinion at 12* and burnt it all home.

[IMG][/IMG]

Made up a pinion support same as Artec and tied the traction bar mounts into the truss too.

Certainly solid now! Was hoping to get paint on it today but it's blowing about 60 knots in every direction so it will have to wait.
