add 20g to your home loan dude haha
once you have done all the things you wanted in one go.. you will find you want to do more.. so its a good idea to leave yourself with some change just in case hehe

Default howdy

No some people have already given me some good advice and I think I can build a top notch TJ that will travel 'most' places and shame some other no name brands for less than 15K on top of a new vehicle. 15+36 = 51,000

Try buying an equally equipped nissan or toyo new for that price ....

Locked Lifted and Lower geared and tyres, I think I will have change out of 15K. This will be a serious performer.

Remember PPPPPP (Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance) I am not asking for my new truck to climb Mt Everest but to be able to get to the places Myself and my new family wants to go.

Remember for some it is about "quality of life" not whose is bigger ....

As long as it is reliable and gets me to where I want it to go in a given time time frame and home again it is a worthwhile purchase

Default hello

Cheers HG just stating a point. I have owned 4wd's since I was 17 (now 32) and have fallen into the trap of chasing my tail on numerous occasions in regards to mods on trucks.

It can get so outta hand we can sometimes lose the notion of why we were doing it in the first place (modifications). For me I would like to join a club first, not because I don't know cool places to wheel or I'm afraid of getting stuck etc.. It's because I have never been involved with a club and it may broaden my horizons and I may well meet some decent people that may or may not add some value to our lives (sounds silly but at the end of the day humans are social creatures).

Secondly to the point above, recreational 4wders such as myself need a mouthpiece to get our points of view across to the powers that be because we all are aware that we are losing more and more of our beloved bush.

Back to the point at the top ie mods, I know where a locked geared truck can take me and I am comfortable with that. I don't need exo skeletons, 20" lifted 50" tyres to get me to where I like to go. And I think in retrospect, some of the younger users on this forum would be gobsmaked as to where a standard 4wd can go safely with sensible driving...
