It is rare to find disc machines still in use in many workshops as nearly everybody now just switches them out for new.

Because replacement discs pretty well all come from china are cheap, you get less comebacks with new parts and more importantly most modern vehicles use harder ceramic like pad compounds that wear their discs almost as fast as the pads and it is rare to machine a used disc that cleans up above min legal thickness so needs discarding anyway.

We are talking Jeep here so no bargains like that in this country. From what I can see it’s around $170 for a new set of discs of a known brand in either 302mm or 332mm diameter. I assume the Jet has the larger discs or are they bigger again?

In my experience it was quite cheap and easy to get the discs machined at a local brake specialist. With no further local vehicle production I wonder if the days of cheap Ford/Holden parts are over?
