Default 16 inch thermo fan

Well today i bought my thermo off an eBay seller in sydney for $58 delivered to melbourne. Anyone using a similar , (not expensive SPAL fan) ?

no issues mounting it but wondering how to adjust its duty cycle considering I'm running a 180f thermostat. Will definitely be hooking it up to the ac condenser fan via relay input. IE if the ac fan activates during AC mode the 16" will receive a relay input to activate. Same being with if the temp sees 105c both fans will activate , just not sure on the workings of the thermo in normal daily driving

Default 16 inch thermo fan

XJs typically like 195*F thermostats. But if you really want to make use of a 180*F thermostat best to use an auxiliary temp sensor to turn on both fans at closer to 95*C rather than the factory 105*C (or 102*C for '00-'01).

I ran one of these fans for a couple of years until the lock nut fell off the end and the motor burned out. I'm now running a 400W Taurus fan.

Thanks for the info darksidecustoms

If I was to change the factory temp sensor from 105 to 95 will it work for turn on or is it all pcm controlled?

so i need to have my 16" fan switched on independently. I might just throw a 195f thermostat back in it. If i did that what separate temp range switch would i need to activate the 16" aftermarket thermo?

Maybe just put the 16" in with the 180* thermostat! see how it runs?
Would be wiring in a "on" override switch regardless.
Good luck with it.
