Default 1-2 unis per oil change

Sigh.
It's a jeep life.
Rear-most uni, flogs out in no time.
Some background:
4 - 4 1/2 " lift . HnT SYE. Stock front drive shaft, in the rear. Ford 8.8 rear axle, with purches installed at stock location/angle. Rear lift achieved via shackle relocators and JKS shackles. Stock leaves.

Pinion angle: 11.5°
Drive shaft: 12.5°
Transfer: 5°

Now, to my knowledge, those angles are in the ballpark.

BUT!

Now look at the drive train from underneath, IE: looking up towards the floor, and the pinion is OFFSET to the
D/S.
I believe, it's THIS angle, introduced to the rear uni that is farking up the recipe.

What say you?

Replacing one or two universal joints every oil change/5000klm is getting old.

Cheers

I just went out and shot those.
I can't measure an angle, as my angle finder only works vertically.

It's not a huge amount but it is in addition to the amount you mention above which will be adding to your woes..

I know it's pretty obvious but you did centre the diff correctly didn't you???

Yeah. The 8.8 is offset to the drivers side, standard. The purches mounting positions were found by measuring off the bearing flanges.

What sort of damage are you seeing on the uni's?
Is there plenty of room on the spline for when the suspension bottoms?
What type of grease are you using ?

Noise. Worn out, movement. When I remove the universals, I can "tilt" the bearing cup on the trunion.

Movement on the spline, I'm a little dubious about. Approx an inch of compression. If that.

Grease, PROLUBE Pro Lithplex TAC Grease.

Although, this last one I installed last night, I just stuck a finger-full of Castrol LMM Multi-Purpose Heavy Duty, into each cap. This uni is a MOOG, non serviceable.
The last two were Toyo, greaseables, and two before that were Spicer, greaseables, with the internal seal.

I'm not using crap...

Cheers

Btw, thanks for the help, guys.
