When I first did my idle pulleys they were a right *hit as the torx bolt heads had been mutilated on a couple of them. I had to butcher the pullet to be able to pull some other bolts to be able to get them off.

After I put new injectors and fuel pump in I opted to upgrade to a 2 micron Raycor filter as the CAVs are 30 micron from memory.

So far it has been good and I wouldn't change it.

Yeah sounds like fun, I'll wait and cross my fingers, will add another fuel filter on when I get back from Warbirds next week, I'm always worried the fuel line will break on the original. Engine and diff oil change today with an all round tyre kick and ready to hook up camper and roll down south to Temora.
It's bloody great not having to go to work, can finally have a life.

Hey guys just bought myself a WG a few weeks ago to use as a daily/tow car and have been going thru it to make it reliable. I came across the forum and found some very useful tips and thought after doing some work to the Jeep I would add a little info
Nuline Idler tensioner pulley is now part EP101 which is still steel but has only one side wall making it lighter.
I did a reco on my alternator as the clutch was stuffed and got the clutch and pulleys from here. ( clutch $82 )

http://www.precisionintl.com/

they didn't have everything in stock but got it ordered in for a total around $200

I also found brushes for the alternator online

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bosch-Alt...990f9fd&_uhb=1

And slip ring here if you need it

http://www.americanenginesco.com/bos...-applications/

Also as these alternators a very hard to find at a good price this one looks like it will fit if you swap out the brushes for the link above and maybe rotate the rear cover 90 degrees to line up the two pin plug on brush unit better.

Good one No Bling, welcome to the 'mob, when I get to my desk top I ll include the info on "Everything 2.7".

The rotor saga is all fixed, Sunday trading I love it, just went to Repco they had a set of Repco rotors on the shelf and with 25% off on my RACQ card they didn't hurt the wallet and are now hanging off my Jeep. I know they are cheapies but better that what was on it , the 4000km trip will see how they go.

I have a sprinter alternator on mine went larger to rated jobbie, from memory 180amps. The wiring is different, you need to add 12v to the alternator regulator to get it up and running. It will throw a code as the control circuit doesn't work as originally designed but all works OK.

I've been meaning to play with a voltage divider to return it to standard, just haven't had the motivation to have a play.

It pays to run a micrometer over the rotors whenever you have the wheels off to keep an eye on their thickness.

Lucky find if you ask me.
