I've had bad fuel clogging the filters on trucks a couple of times mainly when I was out west or up in the NT, thankfully we had secondary filters fitted so the main engine filter was still okay, otherwise would have been up the creek but I could also drain the bottom of the tank something you can't do in the Jeep, big problem if you do get a tank of crap, imagine pulling the bloody tank out on the side of the Leichardt or somewhere, easier to throw a match.

Anyone using Castrol Magnetec diesel in their 2.7, the reason I ask is last service I used it instead of my usual Penrite and I'm now getting a drop in oil pressure when the engine gets hot like when dragging the van up the Twb range, temp hits 100, can hear the fan kick in at full noise and then after` awhile the oil starts to drop down a couple of notches, flucuates a little bit but goes back to normal when things cool down a bit.
Putting the Jeep on the ramps and giving it a change back to Penrite tomorrow, never have had luck with Castrol oil.

If it does the same with Penrite then I will have a mild panic I think.

I have been using Castrol as well & I have also noticed a rise in temperature, didn't put two and two together until now.

Mine has done this occasionally in the past, however since I've run an engine oil flush through it I can't say Ive seen this behaviour, even in hot (38C) conditions out in the Simmo.

Well this morning it sounded as usual like a Belarus tractor starting up, rattling away until it warmed up, have been getting a bit worried about that as it has always been pretty good. After lunch it got a good drink of it's usual tipple Penrite HPR5 Diesel, doesn't sound like an old Russian tractor anymore and runs a bit smoother (did have a slight vibration at idle) I am surprised, it only got the Castrol as no Penrite was on the shelf won't do that again. It was only in for 4000k.
BUT it still has to drag the van up the TWB Range on a hot day at 40kph to test things proper.
My handbrake cable turned up today, hooray, arrived Mon day from Rockauto into Bris took till Friday to get here.............
