Default motorcycle CTP rip off

I know there are plenty of riders on this forum, (you've got to get around when your jeep doesn't go ) and all of us that live in NSW are now facing price rises for motorcycle CTP slips of up to 80%, with riders of large capacity machines now paying up to $800,
why oh why did I buy a 1250,
anyway Andrew Stoner MP has started a petition,
so if you ride a bike sign up and get everyone you know to sign up too,

Yep ... sucks how motorbikes which ease traffic congestion and pollution ... get lumbered with such high operating costs.

And as for higher CTP ... why ???? ..... Its the goose that runs into motorbikes that should have higher CTP.

Pretty sure there was some anti-motorbike lobby group pushing for this a while back blujeep ...... just there same as there is always ongoing drivel about anti bullbars, anti 4x4s etc .....

Well there is always going to be some one that doesn't like you i guess,
I just wish that insurance was based on the risk/record of the vehicles owner.
why should some one who been Driving for 19 years and riding for 14 years with a squeaky clean driving record pay through the nose because of the size of the bike.

Would you be happy to ride a more pedestrian friendly bike in exchange for a lower ctp price?

Last time I rego'd my bike in WA for 12 months it cost about $60 for a 750cc...
Rego is a killer here in vic and appears to get worse as you go further north...
They slug people for everything over here!!!!

Didn't they also change it so the most common bike on the road has now been moved to the "Big Engine" section, so they have to pay more money for rego?

I don't ride bike, But I know many many people who do, including my dad, So i'll sign the petition.

The ones that have really been slugged are the 250cc guys, it's ridiculous that they take what must be one of the most economical vehicles on the road and up the green slip to close to car prices. Especially for learners etc where they cant carry a pillion and there is no threat of claim from one if there is an accident. This along with the newish LAMS laws has pretty much killed the 250cc market, or will.

Cheers
Steve
