Default Lift kit?

Hi guys just wondering what lift kit you'd recommend for my jk - I'm looking at 2.5" and see a lot of people favor the AEV kits. I had an ask / look around and am tossing up between AEV and the CRDSTU kits from Murchison.

Anyone know the difference? Experience? I've heard nothing but awesome things about Stu so currently am leaning that way. Apparently they're the same type of kit just comes down to brand etc? An obviously stu's come with some extras?

Thoughts? Advice? Which kit? Any help is fantastic because I'm unsure an want the best quality I can get

Thanks!

Can you handle a spanner yourself? If so there are heaps to choose from. Otherwise someone like Stu is probably a good way to go.

The best one you can afford is likely to be the short answer. If you go over 2.5" you can expect to have to modify your driveline, as there is a driveshaft boot issue and a relocation of Y-pipe from your exhaust at 3" I believe, and thats the beginning.

CRDSTU, AEV, DBOR, OME, Mopar, Ironman, etc. all seem to offer what 'they' say is the best for your vehicle and will make the road feel like its perfectly flat and your wheels will flex over Ayers Rock. I'm sure they are all correct, but it depends on the person driving, the type of driving, the terrain, the speed, the wheels and tyres, the ambient temperature, etc.

I still can't decide. I'm waiting out as long as I can, and have only put on a Teraflex levelling kit until I can make up my mind.

Pick the kit that suits your driving style, the type of terrain you are likely to be travelling on, and the speed you plan to travel (i.e. outback dirt roads with 250kg on board at 100km/h requires different shocks and springs than fire trails in the local National Park with a picnic basket)

Thanks man! I'm not planning going bigger than 2.5" and pricing doesn't bother me (Happy to pay anything to get quality). Just looking for the best quality I can get for a combination of things. I'll be using the jk for highway driving a lot but also beach, bit of rock crawling and a bit with some picnic baskets I'm sure haha

I'd say don't worry about the lift kit until you find yourself calling out for help more than once per trip. The JK is easily the most capable 4WD off the showroom floor. Maybe consider getting a small lift from upgrading tyre size before lifting it. 285/70R17 will fit on the standard wheels without putting a lift kit in and that will give you 1" from stock at the diffs.

EDIT: Most of the lift kits around will fit your needs, maybe even make your own kit. CRDSTU springs, OME shocks, AEV castor correction

I just installed the Terraflex kit from SBR including caster correction. It was easy as to do and gave me about 3.5 inch lift. Only supposed to be 2.5 LOL.......

I've installed the 2.5" AEV on my 2014 JKU Rubicon.

Brilliant piece of kit, especially with the geometry correction brackets, handles and steers better than new.

It's also the only 2.5" lift kit that's engineered.
