Default which video editing program?

I would really like some suggestions as to which video editing program I should get. It needs to be really user friendly as I am fairly useless when it comes to anything computer tech - It took me a couple of years to get the hang of posting pictures correctly on here and not until Hanna went to great lengths spelling it out step by painful step for me.

I have found this one which I thought might be a sensible one to try because my computer is Windows 8.

I see so many excellent videos posted on this site by members like Kam, Briteway, Nitrobent, etc and hope to able to produce something with similar quality, especially now that I have purchased an Ashtak Actionpro http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/140977271...84.m1497.l2649

Any suggestions as to which program I should get, or even just letting me know which you use so that I can check them out on the net, or any feedback on the windows 8 program I mentioned at the start of this post.

All contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm. lots of pretty average reviews for that piece of software. if you're on a budget and want easy to use have you considered Microsoft's own Movie Maker? It's free, works perfectly well and, above all, is really easy to use.

I tried the MS Movie Maker - only saves files in the Windows WMV format, and I found that was starting with the MP4 files off a Go Pro, the results were poor quality and huge files.

I too am still looking for something affordable and easy to use so will be watching with interest!

I use "Corel Video Studio Pro "

Still learning all its features but quite straight forward & it gives you options on which format to save to.

You can grabbed a "trial" version from here http://kickass.to/usearch/Corel%20VideoStudio/

Cyberlink Power Director 12 was recommended by a friend of mine. He reckons it's pretty easy to use.

To those of you running these programs can you also tell us your computer specs. I have a low end computer and it struggles running the GoPro Studio program. It's no good having these whizz bang programs if your computer won't run it. I'm at a point now where I have to buy a video editing program as well as the computer to run it, so I'll be following this with interest too.

I use to use final cut xpress on Mac, but the new iMovie is just as good.

Grahame, I too could not run the gopro video program on my laptop. In fact even just trying to watch the rae mp4 files was stop start all the time. Fortunately it was a work laptop and has just been replaced and now I can!

Will have a look at that 'trial' version Clarky

Sent from a tiny keyboard with fat fingers, apologies for my spelling. .
