lift and stock rims tyre size???

Hi All,

I am looking at a 2.5" lift for a 2dr with front on rear ARB bar a good kit that isn't wollowy or saggy........ What's good bad an indifferent?

Is there a better one you can vouch for?

what size tyres are goo on that size lift with stock 17" rims???

265?
285?
305?
33?

auto sport and would prefere not to re-gear.

NB. I don't want death wobbles lol....so I'm looking for a complete kit?

It depends on the kind of ride you want.
AEV has a 2.5" kit but you are better to add the geometry correction bracket as well. It keeps stock geometry.
The others kits like teraflex, ome will level your jk. (In case you don't notice that)
Tyre wise, you shouldn't have any problem clearing tyres up to 35". If you are going with stock rims, you'll probably need spacers for anything wider than 275. Also don't the stock tyre carrier can at most hold a 33" tyre and you will need extender for it. It's better to think about rims and tyre carrier at same time if you want to go big.

i agree with snowing re: the AEV 2.5" lift and geo correction bracket. i have this on the 4door and its great. im looking at tires and while there is space for 35's, i will go with 33's or the nitto 34's (295/70/17) on the stock JK rims. im hoping the 33's will give me what i want without regearing and the need to spend $$ to get it moving freely again

also good points made earlier re: other considerations like tire carrier etc

Plenty of people run 285s on stock rims without spacers, myself included. You may get some rub at full lock. I can also fit my spare without a needing an extender. It's snug, but it fits.

I think you will find the 295's will be too wide for the 7.5" stock rim, you will need an 8.5" rim

the Nitto 295/70/17 is only a 33.25inch tyre not 34inch the 285/70/17 is 32.7inches if you do the conversion.
285 / 25.4 to convert to inches x.7x2 for the side walls + 17 for the rim size = 33.25 not 34inch not much size difference between the 285 and the 295 really only.5inch

I'm running AEV 2.5 abs nitto 285 in the 33 (on a 4 door). No rubbing on road. Slight rub against teraflex 0-3" disconnects when disconnected. Only happens when flexed just right at full lock.

I was tempted to go the 34 nitto, but next to a 35 they looked almost identical in height and I didn't want to worry about gearing.
