Check out my Ride(s)
Default $20k hard floor campers, help me decide.

I have decided to sell the Van and buy a hard floor camper.
Looking at the forward fold variety but a rear fold isn't out of the question.

What are the imported trailers like, reviews are all over the place?

List of contenders (so far).
MDC Jackson

Black series Dominator

Wild Boar Campers

Broadwater Campers Morton

Easy trail campers

I've decided on a Black Series after looking at a few. Quality of the fitout was an issue with some, the MDC didn't come up to spec and a mate had dramas with warranty claims with them, to the point of being abused by them.

Gday clarky
Weve had a modcon ff1 (imported forward fold ) for 15 months now.
Its probably the easiest forward fold to erect as I've only got to adjust 1 pole/hoop internally for setup without the annex, but it is at the dearer end of the imported ones.
Most imported forward folds are basically clones with the chassis & suspension & only differ above.
If i was to buy again I'd get a cheaper brand & use the savings to fix issues & modify to suit.
Weve had a lot of problems with ours related to quality control, including split water tank, leaks into compartments, failed fridge slide, poor paint, etc. Dont think the modcon is worth the extra coin.
Be prepared for high ball weight when towing as the axle is a long way back & a lot of weight is forward of this, especially when the fridge, etc is in. This is comkon to all froward folds though.
Not a lot of room for families inside either, though with just the mrs & me its fine.

Out of those I'd pick the Black Series and stay away from the MDC, but have you had a look at the Blue Tongue Overland XF?

austrack campers telegraph range?

https://www.austrackcampers.com.au/p...rs/hard-floor/

MDC gets hammered on productreview, the 50% deposit seems bit extreme and reports of delays and more delays while full payment before hand-over is required?

specified tow ball weights among the chinese brandss seem to under-quoted from multiple reviews

Bought a cheap used 2001 Cub Kamparoo off road a few years ago. Made from good Aussie steel, canvas etc. Added what I wanted and towed it everywhere behind my XJ for 6 years without problems. Only sold it because a guy made me a ridiculous offer I couldn't refuse. Now have a 2004 Avan cruiser, yes Avan.!!Bought it for $2000.00 (hail damaged) rebuilt it ,raised suspension, bigger wheels and tyres, strengthened floor, etc. 30 secs to put roof up, no wet canvas, plus comfort of full size bed,90 litre 3 way fridge, microwave, full solar ,pressure water , inside gas cooktop . Plenty of storage.10000klm fossicking trip last year up to Mount Surprise out to agate creek fossicking plenty of rough roads, came through with flying colours. More worried about the 2010 GC making it home !! Towing ,12litres fuel. per 100klms.plus didn't know it was on the back.
