The forum becomes useless as a resource if all answers are simply, speak to vendor X and buy parts Y.

Seacomms - Great research. was this due to the cir-clip issue, or has there been failures with the new type.

Thanks Dave, very helpful as always! I'd love to know why they changed the design and if there any benefit around strength/durability etc, so far after 110Kms I've had no dramas at all.

In my mind, I;'m gueesing If I took the car to a driveline joint they would just look at the uni's order them, then simply bust out the old ones fit the new ones and for a few hundred dollars it would be done?

If i had to buy these out of warranty, i would buy aftermarket quality parts and not crappy Jeep Mopar partsl. I have only covered 40,000 km so far, i am already on my specond set of unis. Which are now stuffed and need to replaced. 15,000 km per set of unis is not acceptable.

If they cant do it without charging you for new axles then definately go elsewhere. To be honest I think you would actually have a case to get them done at no charge (axles that is). You should not have to buy whole new axles because the manufacturer decided to change design. Spare parts (referring to the unis) must be available for a minimum period which from memory is 7 years after the end of a particular model run.
They are probably a very standard sized uni. All you need is the cup diameter & end to end distance. Then get a parts guy to look up the Spicer number.
if you get the Spicer number, best post it on here for the benefit of other members.
Just had a look, there are 3 likely unis, just need to confirm measurements.
