Default Do Shu Roos work?

I'm looking for opinions on the Shu Roo (and the plastic stick on copies). I going to be doing more long distance touring in the next few years and would appreciate the views and experiences of people that have used these (or can talk about the before and after install experience). What the consensus?? Thanks Glend

G`Day Glend, I was thinking about them myself, On our last crossing of the nullabor in July their was a few of the (electronic)one on trucks and buses more then the stick-on. The drivers said they do work, but one or two roos will stay in the way. I am saving penny up for the slimline, Have you checked out the shu roo site. Happy touring

i had an electronic shu roo on one of my cars during this period i didnt hit any roos but i seem to see more than i had prior to putting it on i guess because they stand up to see what it is
the downside to the electronic ones is the noise if you go into a town and forget to turn them off you will be getting people giving you a hard time
i now use the plastic stickon ones and find them realy good since i started using them i havent hit a roo (and i was averageing 1 a month) the other good thing if they cop a bird strike or get full of mud they are only $10 to replace so you can keep spares
just MHO

I have the plastic whistles on both vehicles. They don't scare the roo's away (you'd need a '30 or a shot gun for that LOL)
What they DO do is make the roos pop their heads up 'coz they're listening to a new sound trying to work out what the wistle is. That movement is enough to pre-warn you while you're driving that the roo is there so you get more time to slow down etc to avoid the roo.

I had a customer come in one day who had the plastic ones fitted, and he swore by them, said he use to watch the roo's react to it and hadn't hit one in 10 years of them being fitted.
