No I did not use the crossovers. I tried, but I found that it sounds better without them.
I got them from ebay, $75 shipped.

as far as putting them in the stock housing, anything specific or just unclip the old part and pop the new one in?

I trimmed the housing a little bit with a small file.
I can still clip the oem ones back in very tight just like before trimmed. you'll not see any gap.

Yesterday I changed the serpentine belt, tensioner, changed the oil, changed the oil and fuel filter and checked the air filter.
I want to meet the engineer who designed the fuel filter assembly and punch him in the face. Why is the body of the filter not attached to the chassis rail and why does the spin on filter get bolted to the bash plate/bracket unit. I get that it's easier to install/build the Jeep but servicing is a bitch.
Thinking about how I can replace the unit with something more like my boat, it's a non-turbo diesel inboard and it has easy spin on filters that take about 2 minutes to change as opposed to 30 bloody minutes.
Would anyone else be interested in a kit to replace the stock Jeep filter with a decent filter, with glass/plastic sight bowl in an area you can get to with filters that are easy to find?
