Thumbs up TJ Stereo Surround Supplier

G'day all,

New to the forum, new to Jeeps.

Missus has picked up a sweet TJ Renegade ('05), pretty stock. The FM (unsure if its the transistor, or no reception due to bad arial connection) doesn't work. Only CD player and AM works.

Question is, I've seen some surrounds in my 'Googling' of TJ replacements and have been pretty unsuccessful tracking them down online (eBay). Does anyone know of an Australian supplier for the surround and possibly a wiring harness/ISO connector ?

This way I can install any single din head unit I like, in the factory oval slot.

Thanks in advanced.

Search online for an Aerpro Chrysler to ISO Wiring Harness (P/N: APP019). Should should see several local surpliers.

Althought it is different to your 03-06 radio, I found that the locally available fascia for my 97 TJ didn't sit quite right. I did find Metra's products to work well. Metra have a fascia for your 2005 TJ (P/N: 99-6505) available through Amazon.

I have seen on ebay usa a nice double din fascia so you can throw the old set up away and use a nice flip out screen unit..
I do not recall the price though, but would be a nice change to the norm.

Auto barn had the single din fascia you are talking about though... My TJ is a 2003.

I used the above Metra fascia for my 03 TJ. Fit perfectly. I went into Autobarn and ordered it. Took a while but well worth it.

how on earth are you meant to fit a double din unit in there, I take it the aftermarket plates only make the front double din but the slot behind remains single din or do you have to carve out the jeep to make enough room???

If you can, I am keen as for one

With a bit of "rough" custom work (Dremel, bog, fibreglass etc) you can fit it. I did it to fit a double din touch screen unit in but opted back to my better spec Alpine unit in the end and a little storage unit

You can get a double din plate aftermarket, there is some trimming to the area the stereo goes into but not a lot. Otherwise just buy a single din with fold out 7inch screen, plenty of Android options around.
