Default When will Jeep dealers get real?

Rant time

Looking to buy a single 18 inch Laredo wheel as I have bought 5 new D697's as well as another set of 4 used rims with road tyres on them.

Rang three dealers in Melbourne and the best price for a single rim was $1200. This ridiculous. Anyone know of an aftermarket alternative? Or does anyone have one for sale?

Cheers,

Andrew

It isn't just Jeep dealers to be fair, prices for parts are sky high across the board. A friend was looking at landcruiser rims recently, they were around that mark too...

No, I think Jeep dealers are very special.....in a league of their own with this shit. Recently quoted $1700 for a driver's seat base for a WJ and they wanted over $600 for a steering box seal kit.

did you try ALL wreckers ? or a tire place ? (never know till you try)
you have four right ? what is the other for ? spare ? have you looked at what the PCD is ? and see if another off another car will go on ?
after all it is only a spare right ? no one will see it unless you get a flat.

Hutch sells them, try in the for sale section

You never buy anything off dealers, my sons JK they wanted $500+ for the top and bottom radiator hoses, Moparamerica were $19.70 US each about $28 aus and as I bought fuel, oil, air, cabin and gearbox filters for my WK2 the freight worked out at $6.50 aus per item and delivered in one week

There is usually loads of them on eBay—single wheels and sets, often for less than $200 each.
