Default Fuel tank in a camping trailer??

I'm in the process of building a camping trailer (I'll start a thread when I get the photos off the digi camera ) and I'm starting to think about options for carying extra fuel supplies.

What do you all think of this (remember, this is just thinking out loud )

Put an LRA custom tank under the TJ and mount the standard tank under the camper.
TJ filler on the side of camper.
Mount a second fuel gauge in jeep.
It could either be used to transfer to main tank or be switchable from dash to use direct from either.

Any thoughts,

or to cutback on gizmos.. just get a 70lt tank built onto the trailer and buy your self a hand pump.. and transfer that way.. thats how we had our trailer set up for our earthmoving business.. but worked a tread when travelling due to owning a diesel tojo as well.. long range tanks.. and about 150L of diesel on the trailer.. once filled you could pretty much go as far as you wanted.and the hand punp was easy as to use.. and each complete turn worked out to be a litre I think..was a long time ago now.

Just thinking of tje connections between trailer and tow vehicle? There are some good hydrolic couplings around that snap togeather but wonder about security of these? The idea is great and I'm sure there is a way round any problems.

Id be consearned about legality.

An exposed fuel line from a trailer and your tank i'm sure would raise a few eyebrows.

however what HG mentioned was / is good
