Think it is the same as any car. All makes have lemons. I have a 98 ZJ and have done 15k since I've had it and other than replacing a leaking axle seal (which was leaking when I bought it) I have had no problems at all with the car. Even managed to drown it in a dam, had the plugs pulled and dried it out and it's still running great.

Only difference to my car from when I got it is it now has scratches on it where I keep going off road. Other than that I love it, it never lets me down.

I've had mine for 13 months now, just broke a massive 17,000K and I do take it offroad in some places that a saner person wouldn't. I've added an aftermarket lift to it and swaybar disconnects. Haven't had a problem...nothing,nada,zilch.
But when I do (notice I say when, not if) I'm not blaming DC. I'm blaming myself because I've added said kit and disconnects and I take the mall crawler into places a saner person wouldn't...

Patrol 4.2 and 3.0 diesels - Recall notices imminent for 5th gear failures

on top of:

those new Prado auto-shifting issues the ozexplorer forum blokes reporting

nissan has customer warranty claims for blown-up turbos - four 3.0 turbo Patrols sent to local independent turbo specialist to try to work out how to stop them 'spiking' to 30lbs boost and self-destructing.

I sincerely wish Tricky good luck with the 'lucky dip' he (and us eventually) will have to go through.

TW There are people out there that do know how to fix a Jeep or supply parts for Jeeps that don't go telling Jeep owners on a Jeep forum that there cars are no good.

But it's your business not mine and I have no right in interfering with how you run it so if you believe you need to be that honest and it dosn't impact your business then there is no issue is there?

Bit naive maybe but as you said it's just your opinion

My TJ is no good, bent tail gate in first week (standard tyres), water pump went before its first service. Uni joints gone, something up with the left hand front brake. I've now got Jeep assist in quick dial. Mine is a Feb 2004 build with 15,000kms

This is my second TJ and I must say I loved the first (97 tj) till a P plater helped me run it into an electricity pole. But now I'm with my old man (tricky, who has had everything replaced except the engine, oh and shocks but sounds like they're ready now). I'm selling my less than 10 month old Jeep as soon as I find what it is I want.. (x jeep lover)
