Default Break Lock Diff

Just wondering what everyone's opinion on break lock Diffs are? I just bought a 2012 Pentestar and I was considering a locker after seeing some big wranglers do their thing.... Already have a lift Should i be looking at other mods first?

Surprisingly effective once you learn how to use them. The only work after detecting slip and then applying the brakes to the spinning wheel. This requires additional right foot to spin the wheel faster to allow the system to detect it then slow it down, applying more power to the wheel on solid ground.

Easiest way to see for yourself is to find a little gully to straddle diagonally, preferably uphill then crawl into it until you loose traction from opposing wheels lifting. With lockers at this point you would just simply keep driving forward, with the open diff you stop as the two opposing wheels start to spin. Accelerate to make them spin faster and the ELBD kicks in and you should then start moving forward again.

Effective, but not a replacement for lockers thats for sure.

Congratulations on the buy of the 2012 JK. I would wheel the JK a lot more to see the traction control working and test your limits. Get to know it more and then make a decision on lockers. Tyres and lift and disconnects would be the go first and good recovery equipment.
