Jk stock air filter

Hey, is there a method to cleaning the stock air filter and can you buy them from anywhere other than a jeep dealer.

Just doing some Maintainace and notice mine is quite dirty. Kind of need to deal with it today or tomorrow morning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Q1, gentle reverse blowout with compressed air will help a little but wont bringit back to new.
Q2, as you need a filter NOW i think a dealer is the best option. There are aftermarket ones - see replacement parts thread

Thanks MM for the input, job almost done. I’m just cleaning some crud out of the base of the air box. I think it is time for a snorkel and an aftermarket air dam to go with my DBOR front bar. I am getting way to much "spash back" into the engin bay. I was very luck this time not to do damage.

Also MM thanks for keeping the replacement parts thread up to date. I sure that I speak for all JK AJOR members in saying we appreciate your time and effort.

LOL. Got a bit of mud in there last weekend Ben!! Not surprised, even with the snorkle I managed to get some mud splashed in through the small drain hole, all the other holes are already sealed. Had a high tide mark of about half an inch in the very lower section, so probably not much more than 100ml or so of water. But there was a LOT of dust in the filter - mostly thanks to being behind that large cloud of dust you pair were throwing up I guess. Might need to look at a prefilter for the top of the snorkle too.
