Default Clicking noise after ignition turned off

My son picked up a 2006 MY07 3L Limited WH today as an upgrade from his Impreza. There are a few trim items I need to fix up, but he reported a noise after turning the car off.

About 20-30 sec after turning off the ignition, there is a loud repetitive clicking from behind the radio/AC controls. In a previous car this was a faulty blend actuator. Is the same true here? Any other causes? Process to repair?

Good news is I'm taking the console apart to fit a new double-DIN stereo in the next couple of weeks, so I can get a better look at the cause when it's pulled apart.

After turning the engine off their is a hum and one of the actuators on the engine cycles a few times, this is normal.

Get the right bus adapter or the new stereo will turn the information display to German

Thanks for the tip about the bus adapter. Was planning on ordering the Aerpro fascia, adapter cables and steering wheel module.

The clicking definitely isn't the factory cycling of the variable turbo actuator. This is in the cabin and I've isolated it to the AC/air blend controls. It will also occur occasionally when changing the air output selection (face/feet/demister). Looks like I'll either be buying the repair kit or new actuator modules.

My son also managed to isolate another annoying issue - when he drove the car, he was reporting an intermittent loud, constant beep coming through the stereo. When I drove it, nothing. Turns out his P-plate was just in the edge of the parking sensor field. Of course, I don't have the P-plate on when I drive!
