Default Cheap Tweeter Upgrade

After stumbling upon a thread on another Wrangler forum (http://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/st...ap-662985.html) I decided to have a crack at improving the Alpine sound system in my 2013 JK. Being a bit of an audio nerd myself I am quite puzzled why Jeep decided to use a 2.2uF capacitor in the tweeter; this creates quite a ridiculous crossover frequency where the tweeter rarely does anything, and when it does only for a relatively high frequency range.
So for a few dollars I got some 4.7uF capacitors and got to clipping/soldering with excellent results. The sound stage has improved significantly with audio sounding great without having to crank the volume over 20. Highly recommended for those handy with a soldering iron

Very easy to fit and should do a great job of carrying the roof basket or canoe.

Two holes need to be drilled in the chassis, one on either side, a large self tapper goes into the holes, they are for the rear mounts. Quality seems pretty good, I wouldn't carry pallets of bricks up there but for my canoe and/or a roof basket with camping gear etc it'll work just fine. It has a load capacity of 130kg (when moving).

Cheers
Steve

Default DIY Grille Mesh Guard Modification

Decided to do the common modification of creating and installing my own grille. Wanted to keep out the debris and any foreign materials from entering. Spent a total of $70 including the tools used, versus the >hundred dollar grille inserts available on the market.

Link to the Installation/How to's: http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...07#post1505507

I'm happy with the work
