Hey milky01,

Is there a particular reason that you use a 4.7uF cap instead of a 6.8uF cap as listed for the alpine tweeters in the tread from wranglerforum?

Thanks

Being a bit of an audio nerd myself I am quite puzzled why Jeep decided to use a 2.2uF capacitor in the tweeter; this creates quite a ridiculous crossover frequency where the tweeter rarely does anything, and when it does only for a relatively high frequency range.
So for a few dollars I got some 4.7uF capacitors and got to clipping/soldering with excellent results. The sound stage has improved significantly with audio sounding great without having to crank the volume over 20. Highly recommended for those handy with a soldering iron

No crazy mods or whatever but since my Oil Change Required message was shown on the dashboard several weeks ago I decided to do so. Ordered a pack of Mopar oil filters (6 pcs for 80 bucks) and bought Penrite 5W-40 Full Synthetic since it's gonna be a hot summer and we plan do to a couple of island trips (Fraser Island inland tracks included). Checked the oil in the pan and found out it was blacker than the darkest night. Engine runs smoother now and what I immediately recognised is a big drop in average fuel usage from 11.8 to 10.6 L/100.

I drive about 35 km every day (Spring Hill to Eight Mile Plains and back), have 32 inch Mickey Thompson MTZ and carry a bike with me on the tow bar which adds a bit more anti-aerodynamics.

Next thing on the list is to replace the rear diff cover with the ARB one that's laying around since months.

Hey Chibnall, basically my personal preference as I'd like more high end but not as much as others do who opt for the 6.8uF caps which I believe gives a brighter sound and in some cases warrants turning the treble down.
In saying that you could try soldering the 4.8uF caps in parallel with existing to see what approx. 6.8uF sounds like.
Next step is to get the acoustically challenged hollow piece of plastic that is the soundbar to have better than shite sound quality, anyone had experience around this?

Mounted my 12w flood lights to the roof rack, just need to wire them up now. That means drilling one hole in the rack, the hole for the wires to exit is already there.

Cheers

The yanks also recommend adding stuffing to the sound bar (polyfil)

FKN axle seals. Great idea having them inboard. Oh well, gives me an excuse to fit the new synergy tie rod.
