Previous owner never fitted the soft roof, it still had the seal on it when I bought the JK....in fact, they never even took the hardtop off to remove the soft top from it's shipping location. Of course, being the caring owners they were, they'd lost all the rest of the soft top hardware and windows....its taken me till just recently to find all the pieces needed to run a soft top.
It'll be next week now, I'm going to an open day at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society at Wollongong tomorrow, and my wife has family plans for Sunday......so Monday is topless day.....

Glad to see you're still in the saddle at your age.

Sorry, Mod 1.
I just assume it's the kind of thing that would draw the ire of our over zealous authorities.
In saying that I don't believe it materially affects safety or the operation of seat belts, etc.
Only minor downside is slightly less room in the boot

Hi Milky,

It's a very slight tilt, which hasn't affected the space of the boot or seat belts much, the only effect I can see is the reduced height between the seat and the roof. I am 6ft and fit in easily.

Also, I don't regularly have passengers in the back. As my wife and I don't have little people yet. I've mainly put it in there to quieten the whinging on the odd occasion we have passengers.

It's a relatively cheap mod ($74 including delivery), and easily reversible. The hardest part was removing the bolts on the seats, my art still hurts 36hrs later.

Getting back on point, I can't see how it would compromise safety (but then again I am not qualified in such a field, and it's certainly not to be dismissed lightly) and definitely haven't seen an impact to boot space. Comfort has improved somewhat.

Check out the U.S. forums, heaps more people have done it there and have more useful feedback than mine.
