I have named the front diff 'Ring pull 1' and the rear diff 'Ring pull 2'

Today:
Gutted the front diff today, flushed the diff centre until nice and shiny.
Rinsed the crown wheel assembly, including locker, clean as a whistle.
Luckily there was no rust anywhere.

Replaced the seals, reassembled the diff centre, put the oil in, and refitted the driveshaft.
Fitted the new Moog 'Problem Solver' ball joints to the inner knuckles. Gotta say the left hand upper ball joint was stuck in there like it was cast as one unit with the inner C
Fitted the new Timken unit bearings ( aka wheel hub bearings).
Fitted the new Racho RS5000 steering damper.

Only whole GC pic I got today

Took it for a test drive to have pizza for tea.

Totally stoked

No more DW. The old worn unit bearings enabled the front wheels to sideflop approx 10mm
Hence the white knuckle steering wheel grip anytime over 80. So I never went over 80 for months Back roads only.
Last week the front left was starting to emit a protesting grinding type racket. Ok, enough of that.
Not no more.

This is not a DD, just a weekend Otways, or similar adventurer.

Trivia for you.
Moog is actually correctly pronounced as 'Mogue' as in rhymes with Minogue.
Not Moog as in Moooog
Nice winch bar!

I was all set to replace my transfer case switch Saturday, planning to spend the morning under the Jeep educating my teenage son on vehicle maintenance. The part was due Friday according to Amazon tracking. Last minute, the due date became next Friday, scuttling the plans. Next weekend... and it's RockAuto or JeepKraft from now on!

Changed the left rear axle shaft, as mine had a bad bearing making a lot of noise. Finally, silence when driving...it actually feels strange.
New Timken bearing ordered, so I will change in on the spare axle shaft when it arrives. And if it holds up well (I've heard stories of people trying to change them without much success) I will also change it on the right side.

Relocated window washer fluid storage to engine bay

Finally found a washer bottle with a shape that I liked in there

Yes, I do.
In all honesty, I've often said (said it to a friend visiting again today actually), why can't we be into cheaper, less time consuming interests like chess, walking, spectating sport.
Motorsports is a mugs game, can be a curse for sure

Either that, or you've got one too? Hope so, show us a pic?
I see you are an architect perhaps, I had an architect mate over a few weeks ago, he wants a garage set up exactly like it now.

When I read that I thought, yes, I've put a bit of extra weight on in winter again, so I would probably sink it if I took it out soon
