Default Atlas 4-speed gear ratios choices, choices....

I am looking at ordering a 4-speed atlas shortly but i am stuck choosing the ratio.

Available Ratios

Gear 1 Gear 2 Low Range High Range
1.50:1 2.72:1 4.80:1 1.00:1
2.00:1 2.72:1 5.44:1 1.00:1
2.72:1 3.00:1 8.16:1 1.00:1
2.72:1 3.80:1 10.34:1 1.00:1

So i have had 4:1 a fair bit and that suits for playing in the rocks quite well which makes me lean more toward the first option with the lowest gear being 4.80:1, stock low range and a 1.5:1 for sand and mud.

The other one that interests me is the 10.34:1, but i struggle to think of a time i have ever wished for something that low (don't drive autos). I like the ratio spread but 10.34 and 4.56 diffs is so low i wonder if i would ever really use it....

so AJOR, help me make a decision and burn a load of cash!!

i think 4ish is great on rocks, 2-3 is good for sand and 1 for the road

that basically leaves you the first or last choice in the list

would you get more use out of the 1.5 or a 10.34?
I suspect the 1.5? unless you have a set of 40+inch tyres you put on for playtime

10.34 might be amazing for down hill rock crawling though, you'd probably roll at less than crawling pace even down hill without using the breaks

I am doubting the usefulness of 1.5:1, I have not run anything that high so nothing to compare with.

The more I think the more likely I am to go with the 3.8/10.34, can always use 2nd - 6th

Have not chased pricing yet. As for fitting, a case of beer for energy and a few hours

Doubt anyone would have one on the shelf. Best option is to specify exactly what you want and have AA build it to order.
Just allow a bit extra time.
