I tried turning the snorkel head around like that on my CRD once.
Let's just say you won't ever drive with the window down again.
The noise that came out of it was bloody awful. I seriously thought I'd broken something in the engine it sounded that bad, until I realised where it was coming from.
I can't remember what I was trying to gain in doing it but whatever it was it didn't help so I turned it back around quick smart.

Mine is already turned forward... I have rotated them backward on every 4by I have owned without issue but the induction noise on these is hideous...
