Had to laugh when they told me over the phone that it had to be replaced at their store and not by a mobile unit. When I asked why they said because the Wrangler is regarded as a high end vehicle. When I eventually stopped laughing he explained its due to it being a fairly complicated procedure to replace.

They left me wondering what was so complicated about as I've seen windscreens replaced before. Not that it matters it's done now for free. As long as it doesn't leak like the one I had replaced in my XR8 ute I'm happy.

Mine was done by a mobile unit a year or so ago at home. Other than the fact that it doesn't have the logo on it, (and didn't before either...) and he broke the rear vision mirror, it was all good.

Got a replacement mirror with rear camera screen on ebay & he paid me back for it. Sure beat waiting for CJD to order a mirror in, and what THAT would have cost!

changed ball joints and u-joints today. took about 6 hrs with few beer breaks.was rather easy. first time doing it. 2 caps of my u-joints had no bears left and had seized. nothing a BFH couldn't fix

tip for ball joints i used as a trick i learned with other things is when its hard get two hammers and shock ball joints. was hard but not like what people say.

now the trans fluid change is a 100 times worse, but ive modified my cross member for next time hehe.

on another not i looked down tube on passenger side and couldnt see axle seal. is it visible from out of tubes or do i have to open carrier up

Yeah, you have to remove the diff carrier to access the seals.
What did you do to modify the cross member? I may do something like that to mine in preparation for the next transmission service.
Save me having to wrestle with the fiddly, unorthodox hand full of tools I used last time.
