Default Any Pirelli tyre people

Howdy, I have seen several posts on here about the yokohama Geolanders being a good tyre for light off road work and good onroad performance, but I have heard they are prone to cupping and becoming loud on road? (I have been quoted $169)
Just wondering if anyone has experience with the Pirelli scorpion atr (quoted $199).

Is anyone running any of the AEV rims on size 285/70R17 rubber??
I'm trying to work out if the rubber will stick out further than the guards...

As per the what have you done thread, I put the ICON springs & Fox shock in. Lift sits wheel center to guard at 580FL/575FR and 600RL/595RR. Fuel tank close to full. Gap between the metal of the bump stops both front & rear is 150mm, but the rear had a 2" spacer.

Does anyone recall what the standard gap is, mine had the OME lift when I got it, so I couldn't measure the actual lift.

Mine came with the Mopar lift which I had sag on me and I had the rears replaced under warranty. At the time I took measurements of a couple of brand new stock JKs on the lot for future reference (and warranty claims). 2010 model is 525 front and 535 rear measured from centre of wheel to edge of guard.

So that means I have 60-65mm lift.

I can live with that. Thanks!

I have had the scorpion atr's and I really recommend those as well. More expensive than the geolanders, but really quiet and long wearing. They are excellent in sand and on the road. They are soft and ride well too. No good for mud or thick rocks but do alright by most counts. Mine required almost no weight to balance. Think I payed 320 a tyre. Was on a swb cruiser.

Not sure about the cupping issue and becoming loud. Mine have 40kms on them and are still in really good order. Seriously considering them in 285/70/17 instead of mickeys for my next set

Hi all,

A friend has offered to help me lift my 2dr Wrangler, and I was just wanting some advice on the right kit. I think the previous owner put in a 2" budget boost.

I don't want to spend gratuitous amounts of money. Currently running 285/70/17s on the stock rims.

In my noobishness, I put together the following:

TeraFlex - JK 2.5" Lift Kit

TeraFlex - JK 9550 (front and rear)

Are the shockies right for that kit? Any advice appreciated.
