I looked at one in a yard that didn't have the badge near the shifter, I assume QDII will have a wiring harness going into the diff housings? Is that the best way to tell???

I've read a few times on here that the CRDs with QDII didn't have the badge... not sure how true that is (I have a Hemi.).

Yep looking for the wiring would be the safest/easiest way to tell IMO.
The rear is easiest to spot the connector, just on the top-passenger side of the housing, with the loom running directly up to the body with some slack.
The breather hose comes off the driver side axle tube, so there's no mistaking it.

Cheers, it was at a Jeep dealer but I still got a blank look from the sales guy when I asked the question. I wasn't too keen on the car anyway so I didn't follow it up.

Does it work through the steering wheel controls?? I'd be worried that this one, the Polaris, or one bought direct from China won't work. There was another thread about this I'm sure where that was the main problem. Something to do with canbus? And the year model for the WH effects it too.

I think all limiteds also came equipped with QDII up till then as well, but i'm not sure on that one.
I thorght the same until 3 weeks ago.
