2014 GC- Carplay
I have just converted my 2014 GC LTD with a board etc. from the Fitting Bay which allows me to use Apple CarPlay, which is fantastic nd works well.
One minor detail, the middle button on the back of the left hand side is what I press to change to CarPlay, which was fantastic initially, but for some reason that button has decided to also change radio channels each time I change to CarPlay, how would I disengage this for channel changing ?

ive added the same upgraded board in the unit and have the same issue when using the steering wheel button, it changes the radio station.
I just use the small switch supplied with the module and that toggles between tge normal radio and carplay.
Ive also pulled the lighter plug out and put a double usb plug instead which is plugged into the module so can have wired or wireless carplay

The addition of CarPlay is great - but I don't love how this unit appears to 'squash' the screen resolution. At least in the online pics it does, anyway

Yes it does, probably makes the best of the unconnected screen resolution, still at least I can use Google and Gaia maps…

Is there any other idiosyncrasies you know of that occur, such as the screen going black for a little while, happened when we going down south … thought it might be because Google maps went out of range ?

only bits of advice is- put the module some where you can access it so if you need to reset it.
Make sure all the small din switches on the module are off except switch number 8.When locating the module make sure the vented side of the module gets air flow, i put mine down the side of the transmission tunnel, passenger side under the carpet, with the air vent on the module facing the metal. If you pull the carpet you can slide it right back under the dash.
