Default Smash Repair Quality

Hi folks,

The wife had a small accident in our WH Grand about 7 weeks ago, just got the car back this weekend but the bonnet doesnt quite line up with the guard and the headlight assembly that was replaced sticks out a little from the guard and to be honest, very easy to see that one side of the car looks different to the other, evidence of a accident. I plan to keep the car for a while and not sell but I expected the car to look as it was before the accident, I'm curious, what sort of expectations should I have about the quality of the repair, is this the best that can be done? Anyone out there that had work done that was heaps better?? It just doesnt look quite right and I'm disappointed, I was expecting a better result in the quality of the repairs.....

Obvious the repair is not right! No offense but your no expert and you can clearly see the panels aren't lining up and paint colour is wrong.
This is the panel shops way of trying to get away with a cheap job, they tried it on me too, and lost.
Go back with a list of faults all written down, you only have one chance so make sure you look over it three times. Have someone else in the know look over it and involve your insurer ( that gave me some great leverage) I remember when the shop told me "mate, it's an American car, panels are had to make fit right" I had my insurance guy head over there with me upon pick up to confirm I had the car right. It's funny all the panels on mine all of a sudden fitted correctly to the point I couldn't tell it had been repaired.

If it were me I'd be talking to your repairer or insurance company, there is nothing wrong with expecting it to be returned to original condition, if you want to accept a car that looks like it was in a prang then why bother getting it repaired in the first place. There is no reason why they can't get it back to original condition other than lazy/poor workmanship.
my 2c worth.

i had a DING in my Suzuki, (i know completley different)

took it to a mates panel beater, he matched the pains EXACTLY can't tell the difference and the panel is a little bit out, the only way you can honestly tell is by KNOWING which panel was hit and having a proper look hahaha, still though when i see it i go it's not fixed properly, but it cost me a 6pack of beer and for how close it really is for the cost of what was done i don't complain, but if you are paying out your nose for something you'd want it fixed properly. not half a job done by someone who is just trying to cut corners and make money..

Si!!!

Definitely got onto your insurer as well as most warrant the repairs for 12 months or so so they have a responsibility to make sure it's right. If the repairer won't listen then push your insurer who will surely then push the repairer. Of they can't get it right for the price that is their issue with the insurer.
