~$290 AGM 110Ah
~$170 on 8AWG cables, fuses, heat strink, Anderson plugs etc.
~$60 Kickass VSR.

Total around $500.

If you go DC-DC charger then ~$350 in leau of the VSR.

You have the post 2014 rite? There is a chance you may need a DC-DC charger instead. Doesnt hurt to try a VSR@$60 though incase it works for you.

Those reading this thread, if I was to fit a DC-DC charger, you would install it in the Starting Battery compartment as there is more space there.

The compartment under the passenger seat is very much occupied and there is no room for anything else other than fuses.

Default WK2 Dual Battery Set Up

G’day everyone
So I’m in the middle of making a decision to go with 2nd battery set up or not[emoji848]
1st question is if I go with putting it under passenger seat.
Where does all of the wiring harness & connectors go once battery is in the void?
Also this battery will mainly be for running the fridge now.
But next year plan on buying a van & that will have batteries that will need charging is there anything else I should be looking at adding for that as well?
If I’m getting a Auto elec to do the job (as I just don’t have the time) also would like to be able to add a solar panel to charge later?
Sorry for so many questions & the long post, thanks in advance.

Details on grand
2012 diesel
If this makes a difference

Put in an Anderson plug for the van while you are at it. My suggestion - fit a DC-DC charger with a solar controller - think Ctek D260S Dual or the Projecta IDC25 V2 - as close as possible to the battery and put another Anderson plug on the solar input. You can then plug in an UNCONTROLLED solar panel to charge the auxiliary battery when camped.

I use 13 sq mm cable for all the connections - 6B&S.

Cheers
