i installed a second battery in the spare wheel area and went with an intervolt dcdc charger. locally made in western australia and comes with a battery monitor so no need to buy that seperately.

has solar input as well

Because the spare location is tight fit, Ive decided to use an ANL fuse holder for the circuit instead of breakers, and doing a floating install instead of mounting the fuses as spacd is an issue.

Stuck an adhiesive rubber mat on the base all the way up where battery terminals reside.

At this point I ran out of cable to run to the fridge. Will get more today and finish it off. All the hard bits done and the battery is charging. Starter battery hovers around 14.3v and Second ~13.06v.

I also installed a cig port to the rear seat onto the centre console, in between the heated seats buttons, so the kids can charge their gadgets straight from the second battery.

Hey Imaz
So where did you put the wiring harness & plugs that are there normally?
Also what size is that battery?
Thanks

Its there tucked in towards the left, there is space there. I believe its the TCM and some relays. I removed them from the bulky plastic holders/brackets.

110Ah battery.

So everyone..
has anyone come across a deep cycle battery that fits under the seat upright with either recessed terminals or a slim design?
Thanks

I haven't, and I have looked everywhere when I was doing mine.

There is no reason to with AGM's.

You could check a 2017/18 model with auto start/stop function - They have a battery there from what I heard, I would imagine it'd be a small Ah kind.

Good luck.

Hi there
I had a 100 AH agm in my 2011 and I also have put a 100 AH agm in my 2016 Overland with air under the passenger seat. The battery is on its side with plenty of insulation between the terminals and body.I did have to reshape the drivers side front corner of the well to allow enough room.
