Sizing up some 37s thought you guys might appreciate some specs.
BFG Tyres are known to run small but here is a quick comparison which surprised me.
Both tyres at 32psi
Factors to consider - Nitto is mounted under the Weight of the car and Nitto have 10,000km, BFG has 3,000km
Trail grappler 35x12.5r17 actually hight at peak
33.7inch
BFG KM 37x12.5r17 actually height at peak
36.7inch
Actual Tread with
Nitto 10.2in
BFG 9.85in
The BFG is also 6kg lighter despite its size.

Got the Pioneer rack on before xmas,
Swapped out my 35inch trail grapplers and steelies for some pro comps and 35inch MT/R Kevlars, couldnt be happier with them expect I wish I got 37s
Have also ordered high steer knuckles, dynatrac pro steer ball joints, and an idrive and Hopfully in the coming weeks will also have Prorock44 and some Currie Currectlync drag link and tie rod to replace the synergy rods

So far i love the MT/Rs the drive so much straighter, D load rating feels so much nicer and smooths out the bumps, they are a little less noisy not that tyre noise ever bothers me and being 12kg lighter per rim/tyre is definitely noticeable.
Also they are 315/70r17 but still measured around 1.7cm taller then the 35x12.5r17 nitto and exact same actual tread width, for some reason though I think they look smaller then the nittos. cant wait to give them a test at cruiser in a couple weeks.

You can go 305/70/18 which taller than 315/70/17.

Yea i have seen them but not interested in loosing more sidewall or having a tyre thats harder to get replacements, a 315/75r17 would be sweet lol

I had MTZ 315/70/17 for 5 yrs not one puncture, the spare was sold new.
I now have the ATZ 305/70/18 the width is about 6mm narrower but the height is what I'm interested in and works well with my 4.88 ratios, my mate also running the same tyres as well as a guy I bumped into Hervey Bay, so I think it's getting some popularity.
