Great report Purds, it certainly is an adventure of a lifetime.
We were up there in August, a friend of mine drowned his stock standard WH CRD, in Nolans Brook travelling in a northerly direction, it went back to Cairns on the barge from Seisha and was susequently written off, he now has a new one.
Mine did fine, the extra 50mm helps a lot!
We also went out to Lockhart River/Chilli Beach, yes the wind blew, crossed the Pascoe River on the French Line Track, that's a steep, rocky, little gem of a crossing, water wasn't very deep but the way in and out was challenging. (See Pic)
It's an amazing place, a must do for the "purists" we even saw some caravans, the road will be fully sealed all the way to the Top of Cape York within 5 years, but, they'll never touch the telegraph track!
