Check out my Ride(s)
Default

Had a nuber over the years, here they are in order.

70 VW Beetle (Man)- Bought at age 16 and did full rebuild
70 Falcon XW Panelvan (Man)
73 Mazda RX4 (Man)
76 Landcruiser FJ40 (Man)
74 Mazda RX4 (Man)
84 Falcon XE S-Pack Wagon (Man)
86 Suzuki sierra (Man) Really the wifes car
96 XJ Limted (Auto) - Purch. in June 2000 with 59k on the clock-Current
03 Toyota Camry Sportivo (Man)
91 Nissan Pintara T superhatch (Auto) - Current

I grew up offroading with Dad in his 82 Hilux Dualcab Diesel (One of the first 5 off the boat into Aus. Didn't even have choice of colour) and wanted to do the same with my family only in a bit more comfort.
Had the Falcon wagon & Zook and decided to updte the Zook to a family 4x4 for the wife. The XJ was perfect. Not too big, Not too heavy, Drank less than the Falc, was auto with big donk, and you got a lot of kit for the spend (29K in our case). Haven't regretted one second and have showed up many other 4x4's out wheeling with mates (with std Limited suspesion), They all laughed the first time we tagged along in the Jeep - Said the Jeep belonged in Toorak, Not on the trail.
Only minor mods for touring to date (Rancho 9000's, 29" Scorpion a/t's, Cargo barrier, false floor, TJM alloy front bar, Custom roof spare carrier, Poly4x4 front recovery point's)
It's now my daily driver so the suspension is next on the list.

Dang you guys have owned some ShyteBoxes........

My list:

Diahatsu Feroza (which got me into 4x4ing - top little beater).

Then it was the missus that picked the TJ when they were first released, I was looking at 80 series - but she hated them......So then it's been:
In 1997 got 97 TJ
In 2000 got 74 CJ5
In 2001 got 56 Wagon
In 2003 got 98 XJ
In 2004 got 51 Wagon
In 2004 got 74 CJ6
& Lastly in 2005 got 81 J20.
Now in 2006 I need a bigger shed

It seems to me (or is it just me?) that people with boring sensible pooboxes (like Camira's, corolla's, and sigma's) seem to move onto KJ's.

Others with more interesting and diversified automotive histories have other jeeps. ie TJ's, modded XJ's, and CJ's.

Whats with that?
