We have towed our Ultimate camper (1400kg loaded) with out 2009 3.8
JK, we had to give it an oil cooler mod as it kept getting oil heating issues on hills (Cunningham's gap), also fuel usage was high 15-17L on flats 20-25L on hills, we are replacing it as our tow vehicle with a Isuzu MU-X, we are keep the JK it just wont tow again as its not really suitable.

Well it's an on road caravan so I won't be towing it anywhere too full-on, even without the van I don't need the full capabilities of a Wrangler.

I had my jk from new 2009 diesel just sold it about 6 weeks ago. Towed our caravan from perth to tasmania towed about 30k with the van in tow.
Yes the wrangler does it but it works hard doing it.

I also own a wh 3 ltr diesel towing the same caravan and it does it so much eaiser. Chalk and cheese.

It wouldn't matter how much money you would spend on a wrangler it would never tow as good as a grand cherokee.

But off road I know what vehicle I would choose jk all the way.
