Well I actually travel with my 80watt solar panel on the roof racks of the KJ. My cables run from the panel down the back of the spare and across to the Camper (and the solar regulator, then to my 100amp/hr gel battery). This way I can charge on the go, independent of the vehicle). This worked very well travelling around Qld last winter, always had full power when I arrived at the next stop. I had toyed with attaching the solar panel to the camper but I wanted to be able to move it and keep the camper in the shade. My 100amp gel will run my Waeco along time, and still have power for the lights and inverter. You are welcome to have a look - it will be at Camp Coffs in three weeks.
