Default I bought a few parts

Hi guys,
I am not really sure where to put this, so mods feel free to move if you want. I just wanted to share a experience i had with purchasing some parts.

I have had a bit of a bad run lately with my xj having the neutral switch, radiator and water pump all going at the same time. As soon as i noticed i was loosing water, i didn't drive the car and had it towed straight to the mechanics (i know how much damage overheating can do, as i was a engine reconditioner by trade!)

So the mechanic told me the tanks were cracked and that he could get a new radiator for $450. I did some searching on here and came across your upgraded alloy radiator thread. To be honest i don't tow a car trailer anymore and the car never does any offroad stuff, so i didn't see the point in upgrading. Anyway i got on ebay and looked around and found a radiator from a place called East Coast 4wd for $290 with 12 months warranty. I gave them a call, and it turns out they sell the neutral switch, water pump and a few more bits and pieces for the xj. They were great to deal with, and even when we ordered the early water pump instead of the late (my car is a early 98 but a series 2) they had another one there that day ready to exchange

So I ended up buying:
water pump $95
Radiator $290
Serpintine belt $40
Neutral switch $250 (I know you can rebuild them, and i will probably sell mine on here after i rebuild it)

So if i didn't buy the switch (this was more due to needing the car back asap) i would have come out of it for $425, which is cheaper than just the radiator from the mechanics

I am sure you can buy some parts cheaper on other sites, but i just thought it was worth mentioning, as it was so nice to just be able to buy the parts and not have any issues, and be reasonably priced in my opinion.
I hope this is of some use to someone or i typed all this for nothing lol.

Regards
Shannon.
