Default Tyre Regulations

Guys, i was looking for something else and found this by mistake, as their are always plenty of questions about tyres i thought someone might be interested. It has state by state legislation.

Also the maximum diameter for 4WD's is now 50mm oversize not 15mm. Am still looking for the link to the revised regulations...

yeah I heard that too, but I believe there was some clause in there about you muct have the speedo corrected or something.

Come to think of it, I was told a few years back they were trying to get a 'blanket rule' accross all states to make sure everythings the same ?

Edited above post and added the DOTARS link that shows 50mm Diameter oversize for 4WD's vehicles.

Default I am confused

Does anyone know if this has been sanctioned in all states as the queensland trasport still states 15mm. The tyre dealers tell much the same story.

You have to meet the individual State requirements as theses are the overiding laws. Personally I can't see the point of the federal stuff as the laws are enforced by the states and the federal stuff is ignored.
