Hi Rusty,

So, after a year with the roofrack mounted, how did it go. Strong enough?
Any mods to make the mount stronger?

Cheers

There is supposed to be steel reinforcement in the outside raised section of the resin top for the fitting of rails. The roof is rated at 40kg according to rolla racks for the JK.
Just had them fitted a couple of weeks back.

quick answer !

I know, but it would be nice to hear the experiences from some people that had it fitted and used for some time...Thinking about fitting the rails and directly on top of that a tray of some kind. (so without the use of cross-bars) Want to keep the tray nice and close to the roof, less wind noise and less option for it to move around.

How does it work out for you, did you already do some substantial k's on dirt roads?

I have had a roof rack for 2 years on my JK.

Assume that the roof can carry 0 kg and brace internally onto the body in the back and the roll cage in the front.

Travelled 2800km in 8 days across the South coast from Albany to Isrealite with 100kg on the top, no cracks, still going.

Any photos of the internal bracing

JK manual states the roof as being able to carry zero weight, its not designed to carry any weight at all
