Yep I run 285's on stock rims with 2.5in lift and no rubbing and well within the flares. Also stock carrier is fine and plenty of clearance with the high mount stop light, which in all states must remain or be replaced with an appropriately stamped S3 light.

Can run with the rear 3/4 seat folded down, or put some weight on it, keeps it quite.
Wonder if a few turns of electrical tape might work, like the door latches... when I get some time ?
Mine wasn't so much a rattle as really deep heavy clunk. It really sounded like the something heavy (like the spare wheel) was loose and about to fall off. Not heard it since fitting the Teraflex carrier.

exactly what I used to get on my previous JKU - took it to the dealers plenty of times for them to "adjust" etc... on the new JK I whacked the Teraflex HD hinge on and its great.
I think what is key here is 1. the tyre size + 2. how much offroading you will do.

Anyone know if the KM2 tyres will protrude illegally from the stock flares? I am already having to remove the spare wheel break light assembly (which I checked is legal in QLD)...
I have exactly that set up........... no issues , no rubbing, & you wont have to touch the brake light assembly

I've had the 285/70R17s on for several years, no tailgate rattle, fits with no issues.

I did have a clunk from the back, but I tracked that down to the PO having had an ARB 2" lift... They had fitted a drop bracket to the rear trackbar & one of the bolts was catching on the rear swaybar arm! Had warn a quarter of the way through it! Also the shocks were over 100,000km at that point & one of the rears was a bit dodgy. Replaced & no more knocking.
