Default Decent sized coffee mugs?

I have several melamine mugs that are just too small for a decent morning cup of coffee and I can't seem to find anything bigger.

I do have some old Army OD mugs that are a better size but they're not the best to drink out of - and I'm staying away from lip scorching enamel or stainless mugs.

Can anyone suggest a good sized, durable mug that's good to drink out of?

Stupid design for camping, designed for car cup holders... those fall over on every non flat surface, and I find plastic containers for hot drinks, somehow always taste of plastic... mmm tasty carcinogenics....

I use the big stainless steel cups... never really had an issue with burnt lips, everything cools in the time the tea takes to brew or the time it takes to push the plunger into the stainless steel coffee pot.

Your'e not taking instant coffee camping, right? You did mention decent coffee... :P

Not really, as you said, cup holders are good and our camp chairs also have cup holders.
Agreed, they topple if your not careful on the ground but the top on them stops too much spillage....

Yeah, I use those big stainless mugs you can pick up from Anaconda for 3 or 4 bucks. As I work in the bar game I have access to unlimited amounts of those super tough polymer schooner, wine, 7oz etc plastics that are unbreakable & great for camping.

An Ex-Navy melamine mug, good for coffee, rum and port, doesn't need washing when changing brews, very stable and after 35yrs very durable though did loose its mate when a Hi-Lift fell on it.

Army plastic mugs are rubbish.

I use the enamel type. Drink too fast and get burnt, too slow and it's cold! Not recommended, but part of the camping experience I tend to enjoy.

i use the thermos type, stainless steel inserted into plastic.

only problem i have had is moisture creeping beetween the walls. but thats dishwashers for ya!

years ago saw someone with a mug, he had glued that rubbery non slip stuff (you know the kind, grippy/rubbery foam like stuff that is good for dashboards) underneath. after he had a few sips, he had it reting at 15 degree angle on his bonnet!

good o!

Bit strange that my first post on this forum is about a coffee mug but I have had a few and the one I have now is great. Fits in standard car cup holders. Leak proof. Good insulation...about 8 hours and still good temp and has inbuilt loose leaf tea or coffee strainer.

Don't know how to add a pick yet but if you google or look on eBay for joemo vacuum flask you will find them. They are about $25 but worth every dollar. It's the stainless steel one with black screw on top with Green screw on lid.

Good if you have little ones as well because they are leak proof but easy to open by just pushing in the button on top. I don't use the screw on lid on top unless I know I am not planning on drinking it for a few hours
