Yeah, I was lucky that this piece was trapped in the rear chamber and did not find its way to the main. But you won't believe it. This crush sleeve is still in till today. I tried to install a new one but was not able to get enough leverage to actually crush it.
The rear chamber in the differential housing and the crush sleeve took the biggest hit in this scenario. The rest of the differential and housing are in good shape. The axle brought me up here to Queenland with no issues at all. So I am confident it would last a couple of 1000 km more.
