Default JK towing capacity

I believe that early 2 door JK’s had a higher towing capacity, 1.5 tonne I think.
Can anyone confirm this and actually how high it was, when it was reduced to and to what capacity. Thinking about buying one to tow our newly acquired second hand Tvan.

Are you sure thats correct, I thought they where 3500 pounds not KG, there is no way I would be towing 3500kg with a wrangler.

That's a UK table not Aus. The CRD JKU here is 2300kg and 3.6 is 2000kg

Tow capacities for Aus as listed on the Mopar towbar kit. Can't insert pic for some reason.

TOWED MASS- BRAKED- UNBRAKED- MAX TONGUE LOAD-
MY11 2DR/4DR- 1600kg/2300kg- 750kg- 160/170kg
MY12 PET 2DR/4DR- 1000kg/2000kg- 750kg- 100/200kg

REFER TO DOOR PILLAR LABEL OR HAND BOOK FOR VEHICLE SPECIFIC TOWING CAPACITIES.
